Do you find yourself searching for kids music that doesn’t make you want to jump off a bridge? What if I told you I’m currently listening to an album for kids that not only is tolerable, but I would listen to without kids around? Yes, I’m perfectly sober. We recently got an album from FunFun records called Kepi For Kids by Kepi Ghoulie, who happens to be the lead singer of former punk band Groovie Ghoulies.
Now you might not know who the Groovie Ghoulies are, but that’s okay. This isn’t a punk album. It’s more pop than punk, but before you vomit let me assure you it sounds nothing like Call Me Maybe. Actually, this is one of my current favorite albums. Sure, it is targeted to children with songs like, I Can Talk To Animals and Do The Kangaroo. However, other tracks include, A Little Bit Weird, which every single one of you is going to relate too. Ok, maybe not all of you, but this album is made for kids who are odd, alternative, and not manufactured in a GAP Kids store.
For fans of the Groovie Ghoulies, you’ll enjoy a slightly slower cover of The Beast With 5 Hands. Overall, the album carries a very positive tone that is easy to sing and dance to. If you and your children start off every commute with Kepi you’ll actually enjoy driving your kids around.
Below is the track, Days That End In “Y.” You’re welcome.
