Want it? Click here to get it.
This lamp does a lot of awesome things all at once – so much that it’s really right on the cusp of geek joy overload.
First: It’s Darth Vader. If you need that explained to you, LURK MOAR. It’s Darth Vader, for science’s sake. Second: It’s Lego. Just as hip-hop has four elements (rapping, DJing, beatboxing, and breakdancing), so too does Nerddom have fundamental essentials: Lego, Science, Star Wars/Star Trek/Dr. Who, and bacon. Third: It’s lamp. I LOVE LAMP!
This lamp is recommended for ages 8 and up, and apparently it does feature small parts that could pose a choking hazard for those 5 and under. It can run on 3 AAA batteries, or on USB power. Darth Vader’s lightsaber uses super-bright LEDs, making him a perfect nighttime defender against those pesky closet monsters.
Oh, and he is also completely posable and can be taken off his base. So there you go, you now have a GIANT LEGO DARTH VADER WITH A LIGHT-UP LIGHTSABER! Er…I mean, your kid has a giant Lego Darth Vader with a light-up lightsaber. That’s right. The kids. That’s the ticket.
Pure geek bliss: Lego, Star Wars, Lamp. Add an Arduino, and this thing is so far beyond perfect that it will probably become self-aware.
