Love 3 Loves

One of my pet peeves is when the toy companies introduce accessories that my favorite superheroes have never and would never be caught dead using. (It’s slightly less annoying when those accessories appear in a single episode of a popular cartoon – at least then there’s an excuse.) Vehicles are the worst. I mean, Spider-Man on an ATV? Really?
But the thing is, kids love it. When we visit the toy aisle and sift through the action figures, I’m the one grumbling, “What does Batman need all these suits for if there are no villains to use them on?” while my boys shout “Cool! Power Attack Thermo Armor!”
An exception to this peeve is this Fisher-Price Little People Wheelies playset, a toy that all my children enjoy. Aimed at one-and-a-half to five-year-olds, its beauty is its simplicity. Five large, sturdy plastic pieces fit together easily, forming different versions of a minor Batcave-themed racetrack. Little People don’t take themselves too seriously, but if there’s any superhero that looks good in a car, it’s Batman! While he probably doesn’t need all the DC Super Friends to help him chase down a single Joker car, this particular gift set includes five character vehicles that are usually sold separately, namely Superman, Wonder Woman, Green Lantern, Batgirl, and Robin. The “Play ‘n Go” part is particularly nice; you can store the ramps and two or three cars inside the “cave,” which bears a handle, making this one of the few toys my kids willingly pick up and put away themselves.
So if your little people like Little People, cars, superheroes, or all three, this is a purchase you won’t regret!
