Despite your best efforts, maybe you’ve been feeling a little less-than-nerdy lately. It’s ok, we’ve all been there. I even caught myself humming a Ke$ha song today.
Times like these are exactly why we need things like the free iOS title Ninja Cats Vs Samurai Dogs. Here’s an awesome list of all the awesome things that are awesome about this game:
1. Cats (sorry dogs, it’s the Internet)
3. Cats that are ninjas
5. Addictive lane tower defense gameplay
Hopefully that warmed you up for the trailer:
Eutechnyx’s caligraphy-on-scroll graphics are evocative of samurai films while throwing in fun kid-friendly elements like cat-shaped snow men.
The game is currently available only in Australia and Canada, and will be coming to the rest of the world soon.
According to the developer, its debut mobile game is “A Lane Strategy RPG, [that] combines tower defense with the tactical variety of a role-playing strategy game. Set in Medieval Japan, the game elevates the classic battle between cats and dogs, by also injecting the timeless conflict between ninjas and samurais.”
The gameplay is a bit like Plants vs. Zombies, but there’s also a storyline and a customizable skill tree. The game features 60 levels, a leveling XP system and multiple unit types that do different schools of damage including magic, might and martial.
Prior to creating a big mish-mash of all the things near and dear to the Internet, Eutechenyx teamed up with the auto industry to create Autoclub Revolution, a free mulitplayer online racing game where players can race some of the world’s most popular cars on real race race tracks.
When Ninja Cats Vs Samurai Dogs shows up in your iTunes store (if it’s not there already), definitely pick it up. Just don’t blame me when your entire nerd clan is fighting over your phone.
