When singer Ian Brown announced in 2012 that his legendary 80’s British band, The Stone Roses, were getting back together for a reunion tour in May, the first two shows in Manchester sold out in a record 14 minutes. With the success of these ticket sales, an extra show in was added to the roster, and the 220,000 tickets available to the public took an astonishing 68 minutes to sell.
Statistics like these are sobering realizations that post-punk bands need to reunite (*cough* The Smiths) because they’re obviously still in demand. The Roses could’ve sold out every tour date in the states, but unfortunately for us, they ignored the US and we all cried. Let’s just cross our fingers and hope they include us the next time around.
If you happen to be a fan of post-punk, love The Stone Roses, and have babies who have a hard time taking off their Morrissey http://legacy.nerdywithchildren.com/there-is-a-light-and-it-never-goes-out-smiths-onesie and Siouxsie Sioux onesies, then The Stone Roses’ “I Wanna Be Adored” Amplified T-Shirt is another piece of apparel to add to their collection.
From Pulp comes a shirt for the kids that would make Ian Brown and the rest of the crew cry, cry, cry, and then write a song about it. Each 100% cotton tee is slim fitting and features a distressed image of their iconic “I Wanna Be Adored” single cover print on the front and a ribbed neckline. This shirt’s ability to hold up the next time The Stone Roses go out on tour? Also highly likely.
I know I want to be adored, and so do you.
