Tagsindie rock, music, t-shirt, The Pixies, toddler
Oh, where is my mind? In the water, see it swimming? Cool. Glad we got that figured out, I would’ve hated to lose something so important. The Pixies, off their 1988 album, Surfer Rosa, asked the same question as I did and ended up finding their minds in the same place, too. Weird, huh? This is a bizarre coincidence for which my only explanation is that I blatantly lifted it from them; I’ll admit it. I ain’t ashamed to tell the truth. It’s just such a good song (a great album!) that it’s hard as a music fan to not be inspired and want to make the things that they sing (and their music/ideas) your own.
For all who know where I’m coming from, may you offer that to the musical babies in your life with a lullaby rendition of instrumentally-composed Pixies songs that will inspire their way towards dreamland quickly through tonal waves of 80’s indie rock gems. This CD includes “Here Comes Your Man,” “Debaser,” “Waves of Mutilation,” “Gigantic,” “Caibou,” “Where Is My Mind?” and many, many more. It also comes with a black, RockaBye Baby! t-shirt for toddlers up to 2 years-old, with their own spray-painted bear and crossbones logo. Your little monkey will be going to heaven again and again and will actually enjoy nap time; you will consider the whole going-to-bed process a lot easier than it used to be. Everyone’s a winner! As was Placebo when they covered “Where is my Mind?” with Frank Black in France.
