Good news, parents. You can put the silverware away. No more gouging out your eyes when there’s a long road trip and you’ve gotta play those never ending kiddie tunes all the way to Grandma’s house.
Introducing (drum roll, please) Caspar Babypants. Also known as Chris Ballew. What? The name sounds familiar? Of course it does, he’s only the Grammy nominated songwriter and lead singer of The Presidents of the United States of America. He’s on a mission to bring imaginative, fun and sometimes crazy tunes to your little one’s ears. Tunes that will have you singing along, not gouging out your eyes.
This is fun… actually fun! With acoustic guitars and electric pianos, the style is American folk mixed with a bit of pop, focusing on everything from tigers and rabbits, to googly eyes and speedy centipedes. And the CD is all about the whole family singing along (so warm up those vocal chords).
But wait for it. Want to know the amazing bonus? The CD also includes a cover of Nirvana’s “Sliver,” with Krist Novoselic on bass, as well as duets with children’s singers Charlie Hope and Elizabeth Mitchell. So if that isn’t an incentive to reach for the plastic, we don’t know what is.
